Thank you to United States Senator Patty Murray who endorsed our campaign. She is taking a leading role in D.C. fighting to support Washington State residents adversely impacted by COVID-19.
One of the major issues in our economy is affordable housing. I would like to start a new Washington State apprentice program for high school students so they can begin working in the skilled trades that support residential housing at the end of 10th grade. This would allow them to work the summer between 10th and 11th grade, the summer between 11th and 12th grade, and up to 20 hours per week until high school graduation. This would make thousands of high school graduates job ready when they receive their diploma through additional state support of our community colleges. Affordable housing will not improve until we have both the money and the workers to build it.
